Is it a bad idea to major in business management if I need to work after graduation?

I am majoring in business management with a concentration in accounting and information systems. My parents think this is a bad idea because business degrees are a dime a dozen. Are they right?

From my experience, a business degree is more competitive than a liberal arts degree because it is more applicable to a business environment. Things like philosophy, psychology, sociology, english etc. while fascinating and engaging are unfortunately not very marketable unless you receive at least an M.A. and in most cases a Ph.D. What would be more marketable than a business degree would be one in the hard sciences or technology. So there are different levels of how easy it is to find a good-paying job depending on the type of degree you have.
