I’ve started a cleaning business 1 year ago. I should be close to full time, but the economy is horrible. Can anyone give any advice as different approaches I can use as far as FREE or LOW COST advertisements to promote this business other than advertising on Craigslist and doing flyers.
Answer by Maverick
You can do Article Marketing, PPC (like Google Adwords, Yahoo Publisher), social bookmarking etc.

I am not sure what to do here with the job market looking so bleak. I have been looking for all kinds of employment and there really is not much out there to make a living to raise a family at, without a Bachelors degree at the least. I have seen that starting your own business is a crap shoot too. I was hoping there might be someone with some expertise in this area. No MLM offers though please.

I am going to get my masters in Physicians Assistant in a couple of years and I am going to go into Cardiovascular Surgery as a Physician Assistant when im 23 years old. They make about 120k+. However I don’t plan on getting married until 28… I realized its better to be older before getting into a real relationship. But I want to know what side business I could open up and focus on after my shift as a PA is over. When im 23 and I would have payed off my loans because Im going to work part time as a PA when im 21. I will also take out a 150k home equity loan on my parents house, Yes i understand the risks but I will pay off the payment of about 2.5k every month myself. I’m going to take out the loan as a downpayment on a 2 family house. That mortgage will be likely payed off using the rent income from my house, trying my best to keep intents in there. But I plan on selling the house after maybe 10 years hoping to get 300k for a downpayment on a bigger house. But what type of business Could i do ? My uncle has a very successful limo service making millions yearly and my other uncle owns 2 two family houses and is very successful. Any advice for me?

Take it easy. People make career plans all the time. Then they go where the wind blows them.

Hello, I have started my own wedding planning business. I am seeking ways to advertise my business to the appropriate market. However, I would like to spend little money on the advertising to start with. All ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Answer by Star Brown
Wedding biz is all about references, and word of mouth. You are going to have to print some good and simple business cards. You are going to have to go to all the wedding shows and conventions, buying a table, and stand out there every chance you get to get the chance to work some weddings.
If you are really good, people will talk, and you will get calls out of the blue, but you better count of a few hard years getting started. Most rarely walk into a small start up business without tons connections first.
Also start a web page that is professional, and shows examples.
I know a lady who started making veils. She nows goes around the country modeling her products on the front page of major wedding magazines just staying with the crowds, and getting all those connections. People talk, if you stay around long enough.
Bon Chance!

I have five years experience in Accounts Receivable: what type of jobs can I get with this amount of experience A/R? I would really like a job in HR but I will make more money in Accounts Receivable to start out right…because of my experience. Can anyone think of any other cool employment opportunities I should go for with my educational background?

I hate the idea of working for someone and am pretty dead set on starting my own business so any advice would be appreciated.
I’ve got $50,000 cash right now, a couple of my ideas are opening a pet shop(I like animals) or towing/hauling(not very expensive to start up).

I currently have four business accounts (Dell, Staples, Office Depot and Exxon). I would like to get a business line of credit or credit card without a personal guarantee, so I can eventually have a business profile under my company name. All of my credit cards are in good standing. But I don’t want to have my personal debt tied in with the business debt.
I keep getting offers from Advanta but they ask for the Social Security Number for the business owner. Where can I go to get business credit solely based on the company’s Tax ID Number? All of the other credit card accounts were obtained this way.
Do you have any suggestions?

Hello. Earlier this year I graduated from college with an undergraduate degree in Business management. I have had only a couple of offers for employment, but nothing that would satisfy me. I figured a salary around 30k to begin with along with benefits would not be asking for much. I been becoming frustrated lately trying to find something and now Im thinknig of going back to school and looking outside of business for a major.
Im just curious if anyone felt the same way and what you did, or what are you doing now, to go about a career change? Have you looked at anything online that has assisted you and helped you make a clearer choice? Anything you can help me with would be greatly appreciative. Basically Im confused and just looking for suggestions. Thank you to all who reply!

My husband and I are looking to buy a business. Our first time to own a business. the current business owners real estate broker sent us to a mortgage broker she knows and we have looked into a morgage broker on our own, she keeps pushing us to the morgage broker she knows because as they say they already have all the info needed. Should we still look at the morgage broker we found as well or not?
