Answer by Silly Me
Establish an Employer Identification Number (EIN) free from the IRS–check with your local Employment Security Office for information, or online.
Then your business has it’s own identifying number, not necessarily tied to your Social Security number which will be flagged by the bankruptcy.

Do I need to have a current business to start a corporation? I am thinking about a holding company for some stocks and investment properties. However we are talking about a very small scale. I am mostly interested in the tax advantages…….

I have just finished high school and want to buy a franchise to run my own business.
The franchise costs $25,000 AUD – but the thing is, I don’t have a job so I have no income.

I am getting my insurance license (waiting for my background check and fingerprints to come back to take the test) and was just wondering just how lucrative is the business while in a recession? I do understand that you must put in a lot of hours and not “expect” accounts to fall into my lap…
