I really would like to work in the film/entertainment industry. I’m getting a degree in business admin with an emphasis in marketing, and for a minor, I have Entertainment Information Technology.
I’m just wondering if there are film jobs out there that related to marketing – in film distribution companies, studios, film promotion companies – etc?
insights from people who know more about this than i do is greatly appreciated! thanks!

I am someone who loves acting, but I realize that this profession is not always successful. So I am looking to take tv production classes as a fall back so that I can still work in the industry. But would the AI’s expensive program be worth it or should I just go to the U of H? I’ve heard that AI’s programs are not what they used to be what wanted to get some more feedback. Do some production companies even consider the AI chains? Any professionals in the business have advice for me?

So, the FTSE has climbed back over the 5000 mark for the first time since September 2008. Several major European economies are recording growth and, as the Financial Times notes in last Saturday’s special report, big corporate mergers are back and “glasses are clinking again in the City of London.” Well, huh-fucking-rah. When the shit hit the fan twelve months ago with the collapse of investment bank Lehman Brothers, the financial apocalypse that followed would, we were lead to believe, be a t

This past Sunday a few friends joined me to go see the movie Food Inc. at the Camelview theater in Scottsdale. Although my blog is not a movie review site, it is such a rare occasion that a film comes out that deals with farming, and so in this instance I thought I might share my thoughts.

… every time I’ve installed it on a machine, it’s been a let-down. I have an “old” (4-5 years) laptop (Athlon XP 2500 with 3 gig s of RAM, using the nVidia 440 series display, if that makes any difference) that’s been running its original Windows XP install since I bought it. For the most part it sits next the monitor for my main desktop PC and is used these days to watch DVDs or streaming video from Netflix or Hulu, or for some light web surfing now & then – tasks that it has always been

In 1994, acclaimed director Bong Jun-ho debuted with two films. The first was an 18-minute film which translates as White-Colored Man and which featured some very impressive actors. The second was the film which I will review today, Incoherence .

While some have refused to accept this unfortunate fact, it was at the far too early age of 35 that Kaufman passed away following a battle with lung cancer

Way back in those salad days of 2007, I was working on the Midtown Project Vol.1 with my manager, Winn Elliott, over at Paul Eckberg’s kickin’ home studio, “The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Paul.” We were taking a break, enjoying some hard-earned Jersey Mike’s and we stumbled into a conversation about the quicksilvery business of music. Specifically, about how artists and musicians would continue to make a living in this brave new world of digital downloads, labels with shallow pockets and a
