so im working on a business project for my class and i am stumped on one part of my project. its part of a human resource part where i am to figure out wages and such. and a requirement is insurance that my company provides for my employees. im just wondering what type of insurance would a small company provide for its employees as well as costs. this company is only going to be run by 5 or 6 people but it is still a requirement for my project.

I’m working up some numbers to determine the financial feasibility of opening a small (1000-1200 sq ft) cafe. Starting out with myself and no more than 2 part time employees, what should I estimate for combined liability, equipment, workers comp insurance?
Answer by glowgrl
It really depends, but to give you a ballpark figure, I pay ,900 per year for an 1,100 sq foot bakery in the state of IL. The worker comp is the bulk of that cost – ,100 annually for one full time and one part time employee. I am not covered by worker comp; as an owner you can opt out. Hope this helps and best of luck!

I am working with a skincare product company that needs to purchase insurance to cover various things such as allergic reactions, etc…Is that liability? What are the average costs? Also need recommendations for health insurance for workers.
Answer by Ed Atun
Workmens Comp will cost you apx 1% of each worker’s salary monthly. Not too expensive but it eats up your profit. Business insurance will be tied into the type of operation you run. Heavy trucks and lifting motors? 0 per worker per month? Sitting in an office? per worker per month.
You didn’t mention health insurance but you can guess that will be at least 0 per month per person without covering their family.
I hope that you are really going to open a business. i did. I wish i’d done it sooner. It’s been fun.

I have a tattoo license. Is it enough for any of my tattoo business? I am thinking to work in stores, but I am not the owner of the store. So if I work there, should I buy extra business license/insurance? I heard there is a difference/requirement between being tattooist and the owner of tattoo parlor. I am in NYC. Please show your answer with prove.
Answer by Paigeybear
I recommend you go visit a tattoo shop and talk w/ the owner about it. Or go to a few shops and ask.
