Stimulus money trickling down to Nevada but consultant says it’s too little, too late
Nevada is starting to see a trickle of stimulus money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, creating some new employment and improving infrastructure — but it’s far too little and too late for 65,000 construction workers who lost jobs during the recession, a Las Vegas business consultant said Wednesday.

Prepaying won’t always save money
Determining whether it’s good or bad to buy a prepaid item depends entirely on what’s being offered. There’s no universal advice or rule of thumb. Here’s a guide to some of the common forms of prepaid offers consumers might encounter, separated into whether you should consider buying them.

i do not want to invest in a stock market. what other ways can i invest my money to make money? business? i dont have experience in that, just looking for ideas to make money with the money i have. any ideas?
Answer by QwithboldnessSpeakwithoutFear
Bonds, options, and commodities are other vehicles for making money. But If your not considering the stock market or business, I’m thinking these probably won’t appeal to you either. You could also invest in precious metals (gold or silver coins for example) but that’s more of a method of preserving your capital as opposed to making money.

Start making money in a different way than being employed by somebody? My goal would be to make 0 per week to start with.

Learn about a product that you can sell, then purchase and deliver.
Sell first, buy and deliver second.

By “small business”, I’m referring to a small, privately-owned/self-employed business. For example, a computer business, a doctor’s office, lawyer’s office, car repair, etc. This also includes online businesses.

I set up a business that has brought in zero amount of money. I have invested money in materials to do this business and I am wondering if I can take business tax deductions when no income can be reported from it.
Answer by SmartA$$
Yes, you can deduct business losses from your personal income. Typically speaking, the IRS will allow you about 3 years of losses after start up before they get suspicious and start auditing you. However, if something doesn’t add up, they could audit you at any time. Just make sure you have all the proper documentation so that if you are audited, you can show that your deductions are legitamate.

I am an universitiy student, and I am in the middle of decidding my major.
Does real estate business make good amount of money? I want to become super rich in the future.
If not, what other business do you recommend for good money making?
Answer by Sara Katrina
Real Estate sales? If you’re good at it, you can make loads of money. If you’re not, you might as well flip burgers.
Buying real estate on spec hoping it will go up? If you’re good at it, you can make loads of money. If you make wrong decisions, you can lose lots of money.
Buying and developing property? If you’re good at it, you can make loads of money. If you’re not, you’re bankrupt.
Managing property for other people? You can make a living.

So i want to offer a program in my real estate investing business. Now the question im asking is if i should set up some sort of trust, or fund. Now i would like to offer a program to private lenders who want to earn a higher interest rate then in the stock market. Im kind of stuck on the exact way to go about this. Any ideas??
Answer by kemperk
get a securities license; and forget what you want to do.
99,000 people want to do this too……private lenders do not
invest in “just any” investment.
show them the math and the security

The love of money is the root of all evil.
You cannot serve both God and money at the same time.
Give to the state what’s due it; to God what’s God’s.
Owe no man anything.
He who shall not work shall not eat.
Give to the needy in spite of poverty.

It has to be a business career because my employer is paying for it, but Im indecisive because I don’t want to make a wrong decision. Most likely, I want to a career that pays a high salary. A fun environment not necessarily, I believe that it depends on the people who you work around with. I’m mostly interested in high paying business career.

I am trying to build wealth. as a result ive invested a lot of money in books about the subject (dave ramsey, suze orman, rich dad poor dad , etc..) i am just wondering if it is all going to pay off ? Is the knowledge gained from these types of books priceless?
Answer by smartymarty66
There are good insights to be had in these books, but I would suggest you borrow them from your local library. That starts you on the road to financial freedom. I work at a library and was told by a lady who stopped buying all her stuff and started getting them from the library (books, magazines and dvd’s and CD’s) that she had saved over 000 over 8 yrs.

My brother has started a network marketing business by investing required money using credit card. But he has not earned enough money through the business and he is unable to pay the credit card debt? How can he come out of credit card debt?
Answer by Hamish
Hi,
He would have to find a way to get the money. It also depends what type of credit card it is, as many you only have to pay a small percentage each month. If it is in full however he could try ringing the credit card company and coming to a payment agreement. He could also sell some assets or try making money a different way or getting a job somewhere.
Hope this helps.
