ok i have to do a research on that for business education class ..
i searched a lot but i still didn’t get it
please tell me some companies that belong in that category (like MacDonald’s or whatever it is) and some risks in starting that type of business..
Answer by Moonee123
I can see why your confused. That question does not really make sense. The key word “public” means your issuing an IPO and the only risk is that no one will by the stock. The issue with going public is usually cost and meeting regulatory guide lines. Now if you take the word “public” out then the answer is easy. Lets say you wanted to start your own business. Then the list would look something like this. Under capitalization, insufficient sales (both combine to make you not hit break even), competition, flood, fire, theft, injury claims, mis-management. That list pretty much applies to any business. If you want to clarify your question a bit more I can probably help you a little more.

can anybody recommend some good ones.. except for rich dad poor dad (I already read that one)
Answer by bambi
I would recommend you to go to some bookstore, and ask them what are the best books on finance/business/investing/real estate. You could also visit:
http://www.amazon.com
and choose books and then just put accounting or finance you will see lots of books.
I am taking some business classes so I don’t know what are you really looking for.
Are you looking for the essential, or a slightly overview of that.
For financing accounting I have one good book and is Finance Accounting by Needles choose the 9th edition.

I currently have my business insurance with NationWide, AND it is the worst EVER, I need to switch to another insurance company that’s able to write business policy for both property and automobile.
Please suggest some good and reputable ones, thank you.

I just got my tax id number from the irs, and I also have a state sales tax number. Im trying to become a reseller of computer parts that i plan to purchase from a wholesale company. My personal credit history is one of the worst in america. How can i get approved for anything to start building credit for my business? Whats the cheapest way, and fastest? I tried years ago to apply for an office depot card with a previous business, but they declined me cause my business had no credit. If i cant get an offie depot card, then what can i do? By the way I have a sole proprietor business.
Answer by nrgounder
Get credit from your suppliers, this seems an easy one.
By instalments you can repay them in a regular process

1.But can any body say that are there prescribed set of businesses for that or there is no restriction regarding the nature of business?
2.Whether investment in commercial real estate would be treated as business for this purpose?
Answer by imisidro
Consult with an immigration lawyer.
USCIS does not specify types of businesses — but they specify the investment required. From the USCIS website: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=4ff96138f898d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD
————————————————
In general, “eligible individuals” include those:
1. Who establish a new commercial enterprise by:
- creating an original business;
- purchasing an existing business and simultaneously or subsequently restructuring or reorganizing the business such that a new commercial enterprise results;
- or expanding an existing business by 140 percent of the pre-investment number of jobs or net worth, or retaining all existing jobs in a troubled business that has lost 20 percent of its net worth over the past 12 to 24 months; and
2. Who have invested — or who are actively in the process of investing — in a new commercial enterprise:
- at least ,000,000, or
- at least 0,000 where the investment is being made in a “targeted employment area,” which is an area that has experienced unemployment of at least 150 per cent of the national average rate or a rural area as designated by OMB; and
3. Whose engagement in a new commercial enterprise will benefit the United States economy and:
- create full-time employment for not fewer than 10 qualified individuals; or
- maintain the number of existing employees at no less than the pre-investment level for a period of at least two years, where the capital investment is being made in a “troubled business,” which is a business that has been in existence for at least two years and that has lost 20 percent of its net worth over the past 12 to 24 months.

I opened up a business and i need insurance and I’m looking for a good one with a reasonable price with workers comp and liability I live in California south bay got any you recommend?
Answer by mbrcatz
Right. Not all insurance companies write ALL kinds of businesses. Depending on your type of business, If you don’t have three years of prior insurance coverage with no lapse, MOST standard companies flat out won’t write you.
You can’t buy this directly – you HAVE to use an agent. You’ll have to call a few local agents, local to YOU, to get some quotes.

I am in a difficult spot of not being able to get into chemistry for premed right now. Will classes like finance, geography, intro to sociology, spanish, and interpersonal communication be good courses to take or would it be better to just take 2-3 science courses and wait to do the chemistry in the summer? or should I be taking these “electives” before I get into natural sciences? I already have a whole semester of electives and no premed requirements are fulfllled.(freshman yr.) I plan on english and human biology with lab. I will have a full summer in academics for sure. What do you think of this all?
Answer by roseyroses14
Anything that has to do with science should be some good premed courses to take, even sociology, psychology, and maybe finance if you want. You still have plenty of time till you can take chemistry so I would choose what you want to do.

I’m only 15 and I am starting to think about college. I know I want to work in the business career track, but I’m not sure what job is the best ex: administration, management…
and what each branch actually does.
Answer by octogen
Accountancy is probably your best option because there are so many divisions,
bought ledger, sales ledger, credit controller, profit and loss accounts, and male and female applicants stand an equal chance with job applications.
If jobs are hard to find with those qualifications you can go self employed to do the books for small firms.

I own an insurance agency, im looking for some ideas as far as advertising goes. I have a fairly small budget but am considering newspapers, billboards ect. Also, what are some ideas that i can do while im in the office working? I sent out postcards to local homeowners and i didn’t get a huge response. Please suggest for me some bigger ideas and also some smaller ones that i can utilize while i have free time.

CD business cards, or even standard CDs or DVDs can create a much longer lasting impression than paper business cards, brochures, or post cards. Some companies charge a lot to produce a professional presentation for these discs, but I have put some things in place to make this technology affordable for small business owners.
We have hunderds of professional templates for CD business cards and samples of our work at http://www.discwritecd.com/
Please contact me if you have questions or would like a free sample CD business card with more info. JR

Answer by ~Susakins~
Im not sure about there but here in the states you must take classes. You do not have to go to college, there are places where you take the specific classes you need to sell Real Estate. Her eyou must take 6 total. After this you will become a Realtor.
After recieving you certification; here you have to work for 2 years before becomming your own boss. After taking more classes and passing another exam; then you can become a broker. You can work for another broker or open your own business.
If you just want to “flip’ houses; where you buy a home and fix it up to resell it you do not need certification at all. Although the knowledge you recieve from classes is helpful.
So, you should ask around first; look in the phone book. Talk to other Realtors. Good luck!

I worked for a guy that owned a restaurant like Quiznos or Subway. He kept it open about 3 hours too early and 3-4 hours too late everyday. He also wanted the place to make money too. Since it did deliveries, we were always in a real jam at lunch and dinner because we didn’t have enough people. He also wanted us to get out right after we closed, instead of cleaning the place properly. He’s now about to lose it for failing his franchise reports and health inspections. My senior manager can’t convince him to look at the numbers and make the hours more sensible. His lovely house was collateral to get the franchises. Oh, did I mention he got a second location and put it in a ridiculous place everyone knew wasn’t going to make money?
My dad is a doctor and makes six-figures. He’s almost 60 and nearly broke, and he doesn’t even live the high life. He hates his job, works for less than he’s worth even when he gets about 10 offers a week in the mail. When other people were getting their houses foreclosed, he almost lost his because he wanted to write a book instead of work. He could honestly be retired if he managed his money better. He puts himself in a voluntary financial crisis.
What is wrong with these people? Why can’t some people handle their business?
